Chingkeetea's artistic ambience will catch its customer's attention even at the first glance.
Sure enough, it has caught our blog's attention, and we were lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to have an interview with the person behind this business & most of its artworks, Ms. Chingkee.
According to the owner, the idea of having such an establishment was inspired a lot by cafes in Korea, & from browsing a lot of artistic blogs, as well as the online marketplace Etsy, which lets users buy and sell handmade or vintage items, plus art and art supplies.
Ms. Chingkee Te wanted to have a place where she can "present her love for art" according to her, & that she wasn't really into the idea of being an employee after graduating.
Her edge however was that, unlike other recently emerging tea shops that caught on the popularity of said business, she actually studied how to make recipes for her shop's products with actual "Bubble Tea/ Milk Tea Making" training at Taiwan for about a week.
During the conceptualization stage of the business, the idea of promoting local artists was already being considered.
Originally, according to Ms. Chingkee, there were plans to have an outdoor platform for local performers. Plus, the local visual artists would've been invited to use the establishment's walls to showcase their skills.
When asked about her background with art, she said what really got her into drawing was anime' which used to be popular from way back.
At some point we also got to clarify that her hair color has in fact, nothing to do with her fascination with the Samurai X series.
When we asked Ms. Chingkee what advice can she give to those who want to follow her footsteps/example of venturing into the business world (not necessarily as a competitor in the tea franchise market of course), or just pursuing one's dreams,
She reveals that from before she's not really such an achiever, and even admits that inspirational catchphrases such as "reach for your dreams" also used to sound cheesy for her. But in the end, from what she experienced, it turned out to be real & a really solid advice after all.
She also emphasizes that like in most business, "minsan masakit sa ulo" ( it has its share of headaches .
"Just aim. If you're not passionate you wouldn't survive."
When we asked what's in store for Chingkeetea 's customers in the future, we were informed that they'll be having their Grand Opening soon.
Among the plans for this Grand Opening are expansion of the shop's area as well as the addition of a garden.

To preserve & further enhance the shop's artistic ambiance, there are plans to conduct activites such as art workshops and the like.
Ms. Chingkee is also aiming to encourage interactivity with the shop's customers especially their regular goers. She plans to do this by providing accessible art materials on their shop where everyone can draw ,paint or doodle & contribute to the displays.
That concludes the interview. Our only regrets is that we haven't been able to include photos of the artsy powder room.
One of our Botebakal Project stickers + strawberry flavored tea treat from Ms. Chingkee. Other flavors popular with the customers are Wintermelon & Yakult Smoothie.
Thank you for your time. Until the "Grand Opening" that we'd be more than willing to cover.
