Last July 5, Mindanao University of Science and Technology students led by people from its Publication, The Trailblazer, conducted an unveiling of a mural project dubbed MURALITY , located in the university's Student Center.
According to Mr. Nhoj Ebabacol, who came up with the idea behind the project, the mural was completed within the span of three weeks, where artists from their publication, as well as students from the university who volunteered to lend their artistic talents to the project, worked round the clock on their free time (mostly weekends) in order to meet the deadline. For their designs, they deliberately adopted the influence & style from the kind of graffiti one would normally spot on western cultures.
Mr. Ebabacol also shares that the tricky part of the mural is to keep exposure to the rest of the university students at a minimum before the scheduled program of its official unveiling.
It was also brought to our attention that this work of art now only has a limited number of days to its duration because the building where it is located is scheduled to be renovated by the next school year.
You still have time to have your photos taken, guys & gals. Just be sure to bring an ID if you're not from MUST and to tell their security guards the purpose of your visit. And remember, as far as campus vandalism goes, "Why vandal when you can speak?"
